WOMF™'s founders are a bunch of guys who all knew each other in the media sales industry. We have seven foundation individuals; the irony is we live in six different cities and four different countries. The company was formed in Australia and is now operating in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Like many start up ideas, the original idea evolved from solving a problem that was challenging our status quo and has grown into totally different creature.

When the idea of WOMF™ was first conceived it was done so in the appreciation that the advertising dollar no longer guaranteed business success. We always knew the best way to find out about anything is through Word Of Mouth, but what we have discovered along the way was a huge drive for communities to want to stay connected, and despite the fact that many of us no longer know the families in our neighborhood each of us still wants to contribute and belong to our community. WOMF™ is becoming a nonintrusive platform for locals to invest in the goodwill of their community by sharing their Word Of Mouth and talking about their friends and colleagues in business to other people in the community they live in.

Our drive is to make WOMF™ the heart of their respective community and we know, coming from diverse backgrounds ourselves, that each market has its own unique personality. What evolved from this appreciation of a need to be local was the idea for WOMF™ to partner with a Local Media. The synergy makes perfect sense; Local Media Organizations have long focused on their 'sense of community' as well as committing to the success of local businesses and can talk to their community on a diverse marketing platform.
