Posted by:WOMFING TOM Rating 10 10 `Helper`Seaport Airlines CFO Jim Day is my guest on Coastwatch this morning. Last night he gave a presentation to CEDR looking for help from the organization in marketing efforts. Day says Seaport offers an opportunity for significant economic stimulus by targeting potential customers in the Portland area who would enjoy a hassle-free weekend on the North Coast by buying a package that would include flight, hotel, resturant, car rental package but it would require someone to do the legwork with local businesses to push the idea. More coming up on KAST this morning after FOX news at 8am

And hear is old, nearly 200 year old, Astoria with The Hotel Elliot, The Cannery Pier Hotel, The Liberty Theater, tons of quaintess and history, great restaurants, enough relaxation and convenient walking to not have to drive one mile for a couple of days of just kicking around?
Where the hell is Astoria ADHDA, City Council, the biased and political Astoria - Warrenton CofC on this?
Why is there not a plan already in place?
When they start....

...building the LNG plants the air shuttle biz will pick up dramatically-the Metro Area is just too close by car to convince people to leave their cars at home and fly to the north coast for a weekend.
Seaport Cannot Wait!!!

LNG Terminals do not exist here, on the Lower Columbia, at the moment and Seaport Air, as made clear, does not have the luxury of waiting and dealing with the possibilty that it may never be here, or anywhere else in Oregon.
Seaport needs some immediate answers as to what will keep tham coming back here and attractive packages to bring "Overnighers", "Weekenders" or "Daytrippers" could surely make that happen as well as benefite our business communties up and down the North Coast and South Washington Coast.
Seaport officials need to skip CEDR and go directly to all community businesses to find answers as to how, together they can find solutions and it is very important that all the bureaucratic B.S. and time lag be eliminated to make this work....now or we will see another attempt at air service die.
