I don't think it's fair to lump all these organizations together in these recalls. I also don't think it's right if people who don't actually work for those organizations use their membership to try and upset local government.

I guess one could make a big stink about the ethics of certain Clatsop County Commissioners, under recall prtition, taking cash contributions from the private coporations they are sitting in judgement of as well, couldn't one Tom?

From IRS; Certain activities or expenditures may not be prohibited depending on the facts and circumstances. For example, certain voter education activities (including the presentation of public forums and the publication of voter education guides) conducted in a non-partisan manner do not constitute prohibited political campaign activity.

In addition, other activities intended to encourage people to participate in the electoral process, such as voter registration and get-out-the vote drives, would not constitute prohibited political campaign activity if conducted in a non-partisan manner. On the other hand, voter education or registration activities with evidence of bias that: (a) would favor one candidate over another; (b) oppose a candidate in some manner; or (c) have the effect of favoring a candidate or group of candidates, will constitute prohibited participation or intervention.

And from IRS's recent history in dealing with these kind of alleged violations, if they are even reviewed at all, the most one could expect from IRS would be an admonition to..."not do that anymore!!!"...unless the the violation is extrtemely aggregious(sp)but, we all know what this is about don't we?

Have the integrity Bartoldus and in the interest of those they serve and do the "Public Business" of and know the sensitivity of the ethics of such a situation refuse to accept it?

Looks to me that so far and involving those particular Clatsop County Commissioners under "Petition for Recall", we are batting 1000 for not being blessed with that kind of integrity.

Tom, I am really tired of hearing third and fourth hand that McGee is off on some other forum pretending I am some other person and supposedly having conversations at me. People google and I am supposedly having half baked conversations with this, um, person who appears unduly focused on me. Whoever Vern Johnson is 1) He certainly is NOT me and deserves to be addressed by the name he has chosen to use on WOMF 2) I am not a "public" figure, there is no justification to Mr. McGee's pretending I am other people. Please, remove the post(s) in which he calls other people by my name and ask that he stop, please.
